Smart RSS reminder in WordPress

Smart rss feed subscription reminderRSS subscriptions is a great way of attracting new and hopefully loyal users to your wordpress based blog.
Normally a centrally placed subscription link can do magic to your RSS subscriber statistics, however with the little trick in this post, you can increase the RSS signup from archive pages, by adding a intelligent RSS link on the archive pages.

RSS reminder on archive pages

The principle behind this trick, is that if somebody visits your blog and click on the previous entries link, a special text is displayed which encurages the users to submit to your RSS feed, so they don’t miss a great article in the future.

The script looks like this:

<?php if ( is_paged() ) : ?>
<div id="rss-encurage">
<p>Click here to subscribe to <?php bloginfo( 'name' ); ?> and never miss an entry again:<br />
<a href="">All Posts RSS feeds<span> (RSS)</span></a></p>
<?php endif; ?>

The output of this script is very basic, but you can easily style it so it fits into your existing layout.

Here on tips4php, We’re currently using the script on the index.php file, but you can also insert the link on the archive.php page. You can see a example here
